In which Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning tear it up old school:

The original version:

And on the theme of badass ladies totally rocking out:

I love how Lady Gaga's music videos have a story to them. And the references to Kill Bill cracked me up.

If, you know, you're not out tearing up the town.

Progressives (and Obama) Are Doing Better Than We Think. A list of the changes the Obama Administration has already enacted.

More BS About POC and Sci-Fi with copious links. (I haven't read through all of the posts yet.)

Is Africa Ready For Science Fiction? (The title sounds kind of racist but the article totally isn't and provides excellent insight into sci-fi, speculative fiction, and cultural differences.)

I heard this song and immediately thought of Cara, although all of the lyrics don't quite work. And then I realized that was because instead of a strictly Cara vid, this needed to be a Mord'Sith are badass vid, involving Cara, Denna, lesbian make-outs and leather-clad Kahlan dragging a chained Richard around.

This has also been on nigh-constant repeat on my iTouch.

Oh, oh, oh, this is relevant to my interests!

Directly from the comm's profile:

This is a community to encourage the propagation of so many of the crazy things that fannish id loves (hookerfic, slavery, all around h/c where a beautiful boy is very very sad)-- but to do it with the het fic. Ever wanted to write a story where the man is hurt and the woman does the comforting? Or read that story? You know, where the wounded hero is rescued and succored by the heroine without the weird Byronic undertones?

I was reading the current prompts posted and kept going 'yep, I want to read that. Yep, I want to read that. That too.'

By the time I hit the third page of prompts I had to go back to I could start copying down the ones I wanted to write. So to all the brilliant writers on my flist - go poke around that comm, see which delicious prompts speak to your id.

–the cracky recaps that are actually funny

the actors are fans of the show (and the books).

the writers are fans of the fans ("I have this terrible fear that I am going to start writing things JUST SO THAT I CAN SEE HOW YOU RECAP THEM." I'm totally not making that up.)

–Said writers also never miss a chance to add in some sexytimes:
