Okay, media update time.

In the area of books, I just finished Marissa Meyer's Cinder, which I loved. It’s a fantastic sci-fi retelling of Cinderella and it ends on a cliff-hanger that made me interested enough in the rest of the series to splurge and get the next two books from B&N.

I watched the first ten minutes of the most recent episode of SHIELD( we love our acronyms )

I loved this week's Brooklyn Nine-Nine.( this is a den of liars )

Arrow was actually pretty boring this week, imho.( where ever i go, I'm just answering phones )

I read Hawkeye 15, which was SO overhyped, imho.( he's just a shape )

On the subject of awesome queer ladies, I just watched the second episode of Bomb Girls. (My goal is to get caught up before the movie airs at the end of March.( if you can pour tea, you can pour amatol )

There was a post going around tumblr that really got under my skin - it was a fairy accurate summary of the king and lionheart dynamic, but the line about not being able to find a example with a lady just***... triggered all my past experience of people dismissing het and femme-slash because [pick a square from your slash fangirl bingo card, pick any square].

*** I also want to note that the person I linked from tagged this post 'Kate/Clint' SO CLEARLY I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO THINKS THAT THIS DYNAMIC EXISTS WITH LADIES.

So, queen and lionheart dynamics. The examples that came to mind:

Lydia/Allison (Teen Wolf)
Sabriel/Touchstone (Sabriel, bolded because so much yes.)
Tremaine/Ilias (although that's more spy/lionheart)
Mulan/Aurora (Once Upon A Time)
Jane/Darcy (would be the super-fluffy version of this trope)
Any Evil Queen/Huntsman story would be the evil example of this trope
I'd accept a case for Hermione/Ron here.
I think a case could also be made for Cameron/John from TSCC.
Richard/Cara (LOTS)

Reading this article on Paris x Rory (Gilmore Girls) and this one on Bubblegum x Marceline was DELIGHTFUL.

Oh my god this looks fun and hilarious and femme-slash tastic. Should I be reading these books?

I read Crossbow At The Crossroads.

Look, this is a book about Helena traveling to Italy and destroying the lives of weapons- and human-trafficking despots. What’s not to like? Not quite as awesome as Huntress: Year One, but still very entertaining.

Also, I believe mistara was asking if I found the scene where Helena gently lays a whore she’s just knocked unconscious onto a bed set my honey-love senses tingling, and to be honest, no.

That said, Helena, just in general, reads as pretty queer to me. And that scene where she’s saying she prefers cats make me think of Selina. And then there is the whole part at the end about her flying off in Kara’s arms. So, you know, that happened.
