My thoughts:
This book has been on my to-read shelf for months, waiting until I had the time to sink my teeth into it. It was well worth the weight. Having Aislinn know immediately who Keenan is subverts the cliches of the urban fairy genre. Furthermore, every character in this book is smart. Their fears and actions all make sense.To be honest, the characters who stole the book for me was Donia. She was like Rue, only more so. Stoic, tragic, and so very strong. ( Read more... )

Back before Hollywood realized how incredibly bankable Hugh Jackman is, he starred in Paperback Hero, a film about a trucker in the Australian outback who wrote a romance novel and published under the name of his (female) best friend.

This film is a delight; you have Jackman speaking in his native accent, the two leads having Starbuck/Apoll-season-one-siblings+UST dynamics, singing, the outback, conversations about writing, storytelling, and who inspired the book.
