So, youcallitwinter just discovered Push, not realizing that it is a cult fandom classic, and that everybody and their mother all ships Nick/Cassie. Seriously, Chris Evans + so wrong it's hot older/younger ship + superpowers = FANGIRL CATNIP.



I'm nostalgically re-reading all the Push fanfics I have bookmarked and sighing over how ridiculously awesome Cassie/Nick is.

Also, stainofmylove and her flist are being ridiculously articulate about how awesome 10 Things I Hate About You and Kat Stratford and Kat/Patrick is.

Here's how it works:

We've all been complaining about how slow LJ has been in recent months (because seriously, it's been months) - anybody have any clever theories? TV sucking, real life, tumblr... some unholy storm of all three? Not that I have room to act like I'm not a HUGE part of the problem, what with my recent inability to answer comments in a timely manner. That's one reason why I'm SO grateful that FMM has struck - I feel like that has perked up my flist with one of my favorite things - talking about how much we love various fictional characters and why.

Besides that, I am currently reading every. single. damn. Rumpelstiltskin/Belle fic on the ENTIRE INTERNET and adding and editing icons over and over again. (One of the many, many reasons I need to start answering comments is that I have so many great icons I am currently not using!) Also in Once news, I am re-evaluating my opinion on Sheriff Graham.

In a complete change of fandom and tone: new Game of Thrones trailer. I honestly don't know who is going to break my heart more this season - Sansa or Tyrion. Also, Jorah, please stay awesome. Please.

Waiting for tv shows to get good. Word. I get so frustrated when I'm expected to forgive shows a bad pilot or a bad first season. Seriously, if a show can't get a good pilot together, how am I supposed to trust that it will get better later? And I really like when the author of that article gets into reasons we expect shows to be good (and would have loved it if he'd used that to segue into 'shows that are not as good as everyone things they are.')

Also, I am going to be helping my mom with data entry for most of tomorrow (but I will also have internet) so what are you interested in talking about flist?

Okay, let's go. I want to talk about those ships that you ship so hard your chest literally hurts and that the creators are never, ever going to go there.

At the moment, the doomed ships currently owning my soul are Dany/Jorah, Nick/Cassie, and Sif/Loki*.

*The only good thing about having eight months until The Avengers come out is that I know that, somehow, that movie is doing to destroy Sif/Loki. I can just tell.

Due to a combination of extra shifts at work, the DDoS attack on livejournal, and computer troubles, I have fallen very behind on my het_reccers duty. (Right now I'm trying to figure out the right balance of posting so I don't spam people's flist but that will let me catch up.) But anyway, I just started going down the list of the fics I've decided to rec.... and that meant that I posted two fics in a row that are both NC-17 and have so many other so-wrong-it's-hot-or-maybe-just wrong elements to them.

And tomorrow I'll rec a Push fanfic.
